Heather is the matriarch of the farm and thus, looks after everyone. She always makes sure everyone is fed, safe and helps people stay organized. She is caring, pragmatic and professional. Her maternal nature is evident in her interest in looking after the young animals on the farm. She takes on the main role of caring for lambs in the spring as well as enjoying helping out with the chicks.

A third generation proud Icelandic farmer, Bragi’s grandparents were the original homesteaders of the farm. Bragi is passionate about sustainable farming practices and has been raising and marketing grassfed beef for over 30 years now. He is always happy to share his knowledge and ideas of farming with anyone willing to listen, just make sure you have some time to spare.

A fourth generation farmer, Odinn is the young face of the farm and has taken on the challenges of farming full time. Odinn is a skilled labourer and takes pride in lending a helping hand in any area of the farm that requires it. Odinn farms his own cropland in addition to jointly managing the leaf-cutter bee operation that provides pollination for the farms alfalfa seed crops.

Anna, Odinn’s partner, works full-time off the farm at a local business. Even such, partners are an important aspect of a farm, even if not involved in day-to-day operations. Anna provides support, ideas and a helping hand when needed. A farm-girl herself, Anna came into our family with a strong work ethic and an understanding of farm practices. She loves to cook, care for animals and travel.

Also a fourth generation farmer, albeit, part-time. Heida looks after the pastured chicken aspect of the farm, something she has been doing since high school. She loves making the connection between farmer and consumer more direct. Working with the animals and outside in nature is fulfilling for her. When Heida isn’t on the farm, she is teaching math at the lcoal school.

Hailing from Nevada, Howie now finds himself living and working in Manitoba - which is where his mom is originally from. He found himself in our family after meeting Heida in 2017. A lover of the outdoors and good food, Howie has found a calling in raising animals in an ethical way and providing top quality meat products for people. Howie is the reason we now have pastured pork on our farm.
